Tournament Types

You can be a tournament champion with the options available here at Three Kings Poker.

There are poker tournaments running 24 hours a day to suit players of all bankroll sizes, from freerolls right up to high stakes buy-ins. No matter what your playing style, there’s always an opportunity to make money and show your skill in one of our tournaments. The support staff at Three Kings Poker are available to help you with are issues with the website, and you can be rest assured that our poker rooms are professionally monitored and fully supervised at all times. Here you will find the ultimate tournament experience, something fit for a king, or maybe even three of them!

You can choose from three types of tournaments when you register to play:
  • Satellite Tournaments
  • Sit n’ Go
  • Multi-Table Tournaments
Satellite tournaments are used to provide an affordable way for players to enter bigger buy-in events. The winners of these tournaments receive entry into another “target” tournament to be played at a later time. For a small buy-in, players get a chance at a seat in one of the higher priced tournaments on the site.

Some satellites lead in to other satellites as well, but they’re all geared to get you to a main event of some kind. The play and rules are generally the same, but most of the prizes are offered at one level – the one that provides entry into the other tournament. The game will end when the players remaining will all receive entry with any excess cash going to the next player out.

Sit n’ Go Tournaments

Sit ‘n’ Go tournaments are perfect for playing when your schedule will not allow you to wait for a scheduled tournament. These games start when a certain number of players have registered, and this required number will vary based on the specific tournament. Sit ‘n’ Go’s usually play faster than other tournaments because they do not have as many people involved, so you can always find one to play in when you have some spare time.

You can play more than one Sit ‘n’Go at once to maximize your winning options if you want, as new players may provide new opportunities. There are no break periods for Sit ‘n’Go’s, mainly because play does not last long. Blind levels increase without pause to reduce the amount of time the event takes. The value and amount of prizes available will change from one tournament to the next, but you can read about that in the specific tournament details for each table.

Multi-Table Tournaments

Multi-table tournaments are bigger than single table tournaments, thus offering more prize options and many more players to compete with. These tournaments tend to last considerably longer than STT’s, but they come with a greater reward. These can be setup as scheduled events or Sit n’ Go’s depending on the game, all of which you can check in the tournament details.

Once you are seated in an MTT, you may be moved to another table as players are eliminated. This gives you a chance to gain chips from a new set of players and increase your gameplay as the size of the field diminishes. When enough players have been knocked out, the remaining players will move to one “final table” to complete the event. Prizes are shown in the tournament lobby.

Blinds and antes are automatically removed from each player’s stack when it becomes their turn. You cannot sit out to avoid this as it ensures that game play will continue for the other players. If you opt to sit out during your blind, your hand will be checked or folded based on the other players’ actions. If you have no chips left, you will be eliminated from the tournament.

Disconnection Rules

When playing online poker, there is always a chance of getting disconnected. To make it fair for all the players in a tournament, disconnected players are given a chance to reconnect before automatically being sat out on their table. The player’s blinds and antes are still taken as normal, but their hand is folded until they return. Upon reconnecting, a player can be dealt back in to resume normal gameplay. If this happens to you, try logging back in as soon as you can to minimize your chance of losing chips.
